Krazy Noodle Massacre

Latest Comic:
Ch 2 Page 6: The Woods
Ch 2 Page 6: The Woods

Rhodes and Dempsey are a young married couple who are just getting started in life. They'd like to move forward with their own careers and goals, but they keep getting distracted by everything from cutesy video games to tacky late-night shows about serial killers. Late one night, Dempsey comes home with a wild story about running into a jittery man at the grocery store who buys almost nothing but a generic macaroni product called "Krazy Noodles." Much to Rhodes' hesitation, Dempsey comes up with a plan to go spying on him the following week so that Rhodes can see him for himself. They might think they're just going on a funny little adventure, but neither of them have any clue how much trouble they're about to cause---not only for themselves, but the guy they want to stare at. Recommended for readers 14+. Contains some light violence and mild cartoon blood. Has some innuendo, but no graphic sexuality or full-frontal nudity. Occasional vulgar language. Note: Updates are currently a bit random. Questions or comments are always welcome!

RE-relettering the comic

Hoi, peopels.

I didn’t like the font I picked for relettering the first time, so I updated the pages with a different font. I’ll continue to redo the speech bubbles for the rest of the comic.

Thanks for reading!

Relettering the Comic

Hey peeples.

The act of lettering my comic by hand hurts my wrists. It makes my hand contract into a claw. I’m also looking thru the pages and I’m seeing that there’s some lines of dialog that are crooked.

I'm in the process of redoing all the word balloons in KNM with computer lettering. As of this post, I've typeset pages 3 to 19. I'll do the rest when I have another block of free time. I want to make the comic look consistent, but I also want you guys to be able to read my comic without squinting. Hopefully, it'll be easier for you now!

Coloring Digitally/Q&A Cancelled

*bangs pots and pans together* SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!!!!

I'm starting my Associate's degree in Graphic Design in January and I just got a new computer a couple days ago. I've been dabbling in the world of digitally coloring my ink drawings. And holy poopies, I am in love.

Where has digital art been all my life?!?!? I HAD SO MUCH FUN COLORING THESE, and it only took a few hours. Compare that to the 15+ hours per panel that I was spending on my comics. KNM is supposed to be like 500 pages and I was looking at the process with absolute dread.

To cut down on time, I have decided to ink the rest of KNM traditionally and color it digitally.

I first started posting KNM publicly on November 24, 2017. Today, it's December 10, 2018. I've been sharing it with people for over a year, and developing the story longer than that. And it's safe to say that I haven't completed nearly enough of the story as I'd like.

There's so much more to see. You haven't even gotten a taste of the complete and total weirdness that's waiting for you further down the line. The art, the characters, the plot--there's a lot missing from the puzzle right now.

My main critique of my own marker art is that it lacks real boldness and clarity. Some of the details tend to get muddy. That problem will largely be solved with computer color. Digital finishing will marry my two strongest skill sets: color and line. The process of inking is zen-like for me and I've been neglecting it lately. It will cut the time spent on my comic by a third, at least.

Unfortunately, I'm going to need to cease production on the Q&A comics that have been sitting on my desk for months. Thank you all for submitting your questions, and thank you all for being so patient with my sluggish updates. (Special shoutout to my awesome friend Oly-RRR , thank you for asking me such good questions!!! Hopefully you didn't think I was dying while making the comic responses.)

I'm going to start working on Chapter 2 ASAP. You deserve more art, more story, more character development, and I'm going to bring that to you in the next year. Despite having to do coursework, I'll still keep making my comic on the side. It might not come out every single week, but it'll come down the pipe with more frequency than it has been lately.

Thank you for sticking around so long. See you on the flip side, duders.

Progress!

Hello, fellow noodles! Just popping in to say that the progress on the next page has been going very smoothly. I'm finally emerging from my art funk and it feels nice. The next page of "Midnight Snack" should be up within the next couple weeks as opposed to the next couple months. YAY!

In the meanwhile, here's couple WIPs from the next page. I've already sketched the page out and transferred it over to Bristol board. Gonna be ready to color pretty soon.

New Page Tomorrow

The short hiatus is ending! Just finished a new page of a bonus comic called “Midnight Snack” where we’ll get to learn about Gideon’s out-of-control sweet tooth.

The updates on these bonus comics will likely be somewhat random, but we’ll be back with regular weekly updates once we resume with the remainder of Chapter 1.

Thank you for reading!

I’m Not Dead!

It’s just taken me longer than normal to get the Q&A content prepared. Thank you for being patient! You should be getting an update by the end of the week. For right now, the update schedule will probably be a bit random until I start posting the remainder of chapter 1.
Once again, thanks for being patient!

Q&A Closed/Tags Updated

Hi, peeplies. Q&A is now closed! I'll open it up again if I need more prompts for short stories in the future, but for now I have enough. Many, MANY thanks to everyone who asked questions. You gave me so much to think about! I think you'll enjoy what's coming down the pipes in the upcoming weeks.

Also, I removed the "horror" tags for the comic. The story does have supernatural and extradimensional themes, but they're too tame to fit clearly into the horror genre. The spooky elements of the story are more like they're from The Twilight Zone than anything outright frightening.

No update this week/Q&A news

Hi, peeples. Unfortunately, I won't be able to post until a day or two from now. I came down with a stomach bug in the middle of the week and was so nauseous that I couldn't work. The first Q&A comic is well underway, though! I'm currently answering the question, "What is Gideon's favorite weather?" and my response accidentally turned into a one-page minicomic that I'm really happy with. Thank you to everyone who gave me prompts! I'm looking forward to fully answering them all. You gave me a lot to think about and I hope you'll enjoy the comics that sprang from your questions!
